MtnGeoGeek, llc was founded by Lynn Padgett as a sole proprietorship in 2004. MtnGeoGeek Solar Powered Web Design and Hosting served as a creative outlet and allowed Lynn to utilize her design, photographic imaging, and computer programming skills to create web sites for local government and non-profit organizations to fill the needs of those with small budgets and big needs. MtnGeoGeek, LLC was reorganized as a partnership between owners Lynn Padgett and Jeff Litteral in January 2009, and the scope of services offered was expanded to include multi-disciplinary natural resource consulting projects with emphasis on geology, hydrology, wetlands, and mapping. This page highlights a few of our projects. All of our projects are designed and implemented with the client's budget in mind. We excel at finding creative ways to do more with less. Colorado Data Sharing Network MtnGeoGeek, llc's Lynn Padgett is the lead in providing all aspects of Project Coordinator services Colorado Data Sharing Network -- The Colorado Data Sharing Network (CDSN) is the primary project of the Colorado Water Quality Monitoring Council (CWQMC). CDSN is a data managment system & toolkit for organizations to share data with the public and with each other. MtnGeoGeek provides grant managment, developed the Exceedance & GIS tools.	Piceance Data Repository Migration MtnGeoGeek, llc successfully worked with Piceance Basin Stakeholders and Colorado River Water Conservation District to take a 1.1 million record database in USGS's NWIS and translate it to Water Quality Exchange (WQX). MtnGeoGeek, llc worked closely with Gold Systems Inc. and the EPA STORET team to add values to WQX and AWQMS to make the migration as complete, accurate, and useful as possible. We specialize in formatting data so it can be uploaded to EPA National Data Warehouse.	MonitoringLocation/Exceedance Mapper MtnGeoGeek, llc as Project Coordinator for the Colorado Data Sharing Network, scoped, designed, and worked closely with Gold Systems, Inc. (the developers of AWQMS) to create and deploy on a shoestring budget, the first interactive mapping utility for CDSN users to interact geospatially with monitoring locations and the data stored in the CDSN.
Molas Lake Campground The Town of Silverton was paying over $10k/year for its online reservation system and unattractive website, unfitting for one of the gems of North America. The campground was not making enough revenue to cover its operating costs. MtnGeoGeek, llc designed a low-bandwidth website, used SEO so it would be easily found on the web, brought the cost of the website reservation system to a few hundred dollars/year, and the campground since is frequently sold-out and significantly revenue positive.	Mineral/Mining Potential Analysis Properties being contemplated for a conservation easement frequently have severed or split mineral estate. A geologist must research the potential for mining activities to occur to ensure that there is not a conflict with the conservation easement values. MtnGeoGeek, llc's Lynn Padgett has performed dozens of these types of investigations for landowners and land trusts throughout Colorado.	Ouray County Community Calendar The OC Community Calendar was developed to encourage the dozens of non-profit organizations to work together on scheduling their big annual fundraising events and other events collaboratively instead of competitively, and to help visitors and locals plan in advance to attend. This is a volunteer effort and has been very successful at proving we thrive working together. Cost is a few hundred dollars a year and is 5 yrs. old. Antonio's Self-Maintainable Web Site Antonio came to us needing a web site and companion Facebook page to showcase his fine art. He thought he might want to maintain the site himself and needed it fast -- before a publication featuring his work hit the stands. We set him up with a WIX site. We were familiar with WIX and since it can be frustrating to set up we could do that much faster and make it much more customized than Antonio could. MtnGeoGeek, llc designs sites for your or us to maintain on various platforms.
